Final Review (Men)

(Machanz Vs XLR8 (A))

Last season’s repeat final saw Machanz going against XLR8 hoping to defend the title they won. Machanz were first to attack but Jorden’s shot were off target as XLR8 looked to settle in to their passing rhythm. Mazly then opened the scoring as his thunderous shot found the back of Vicky’s goal. Machanz were then left stunned as a slick passing move found Mazly again, whose shot hit the top of the net. Machanz then started too pressure XLR8 defends by unleashing shots after shots, but none of it found the net. It was again Mazly who scored as Machanz defends were beaten by a slick counter as Taha’s ball found Mazly who grabbed his hat trick. Mazly then added another in the second half as Machanz defends were left wide open due to miss communication with the referee letting Mazly score from the centre of the court. There were dramas on court as Taha’s emotion got over him, which resulted in him getting sent off. Machanz then looked to capitalize on the one man advantage as they pulled two goals in a space of two minutes as shots from Jorden and Danesh found the back of the net. More sparked flew as Steve who was already booked was then sent off for a sliding tackle on Danesh resulting in XLR8 playing with 3 men for the last 30 seconds. Machanz stormed forward but they missed three glorious chances as their shots were either parried away or saved by Hasnat. When the final whistle were blown there were relieve in Taha’s and Steve’s face as they became the champion for the first time.

Final Review (Women)

(Kupu-Kupu Vs Red Hawks)

This season’s final pitted two new teams, Kupu-Kupu and Red Hawks. Boosting last season’s MVP Esther, Red Hawks started brightly with open chances, while Kupu-Kupu defended well. But Red Hawks managed to open the defense which allowed a slick through pass from Esther released Abby whose shot found the net. Kupu-Kupu meanwhile, had a glorious chance to level the match, but Najwa’s shot was blocked to safety by Bobby. Esther then got her hat trick after two back to back goals that ended Kupu-Kupu’s remaining hope. The icing on the cake came when she dribbled past three players before grabbing her fourth and assuring Red Hawks as the second champions of the tournament. Eventhough Kupu-Kupu got second, they were still proud with being runner up.

CiTY Girls Settle For Third

3rd Place Play-Off

(Emergency Vs CiTY Girls)

The 3rd place play-off saw Emergency entertaining last season’s runners up City Girls. The match started with each team playing cautiously and took time to settle in. The first breakthrough came from Maneesha. Her constant pressure on Emergency's defense caused havoc in their penalty box, causing her shot finding the  left bottom corner of Emergency’s goal. Emergency then increased their intensity, but it backfired because a quick counter attack from City Girls gave them their second goal as Maneesha’s shot found the bottom corner of Emergency’s goal.  Emergency though did not give up and pulled one back at the beginning of the second half when their intelligent midfield play caught City Girls off guard. Thus, Shal’s shot from the middle of the court found the botton corner of Tulika’s goal. City Girls then had to defend well as Emergency pushed them all the way but their comeback never happend as City Girls held on for the bronze Medal.
