Day 3 - Judgement Day

Group A
In the opening game of the day, Team Ringgo, who only needed a draw to qualify, came up against a Pappadam B side whom needed at least a win to ensure a top 2 finish. Team Ringgo snatched the game win a single goal coming from Shafiq. With Pappadam B losing their match, it was up to LFU B to capitalise and grab that final qualification spot when they faced Infinity who going into the match with a huge task of needing to win by a 4 goal margin to qualify. The game ended in a 1-1 draw with own goals for both sides.
Group B
Milo Taboq came up against De’7 with both teams having different fortunes so far in the tournament. De’7 came in to the game with a 100% record where as Milo Taboq looking to bounce back from a defeat. De’7 managed to keep the run going with a comfortable 2-0 victory. Godwin started things off before Jorden doubled the lead. In the other game from the group, Altec FC, knowing that they need not concede goals, took on a Sumo team who were already eliminated. Altec came out victorious with a goal from M.J proving the difference between the two sides.
Group C
The first match played from group C saw Rookies claiming the 3 points from Butet Return with a comfortable 2-0 win. Goals from Suren and Ivan gave Rookies their first win and their first points of the tournament. In the other game, Machanz, having already qualified, took on a Putranz team who also had already qualified after Butet’s earlier defeat. With both teams playing for pride, Machanz took home the spoils and kept to the 100% record with a heavy 6-1 win. Goals from Danesh, Raj (2), Lingesh (2), and Ben made it 16 goals in 3 matches for Machanz. Krishnan scored the sole goal for Putranz.

Group D
Pappadam A and Paindu Utd having both already qualified, tussled out for the top spot in Group D. Undoubtedly the most exhilarating match thus far saw 8 goals scored in the first half alone. 4-4 the score line read at the end of the first half with Dinesh(3) and Thiagu scoring for Pappadam and Taha (3) and an own from Aran for Paindu had the teams levelled at the half. Barath poached in the winning goal for Pappadam to end the game packed with goals with a victory and a top spot finish. With both teams already eliminated, Poom Poom and LFU A played out their final match of their campaign with Poom Poom taking the spoils 2-0 with goals from Jazil and Mazly giving them the win.


Girls
Group E
Having all but secured a top spot finish in the group, De’7 went out against a Rama-Rama team whom still had a chance of qualification. However things didn’t turn out the way they wanted as De’7 took all three points with a 2-0 victory. Abby and Jessica scored a piece each. Shush Bugs and Emergency came into today’s match both level on points and level on goal difference which meant that either one has to win to claim the second spot and a semi final berth. The game went to penalties after a 0-0 draw was played after 14minutes. 3 penalties were to be taken by each team to decide who gets the all important second spot. Emergency claimed the victory after winning 2-1 on penalties.
Group F
City Girlz went into today’s game having already secured a semi-final berth. However they still wanted that precious and in doing so they sent out a message with a 4-1 victory over X-it. A hat-trick from Sumiyathi and one from Nisha gave them the big victory. An own goal from Sumiyathi opened the scoring for X-it.

Futsal Season VIII Day Two

Day 2 Action
GUYS
Group A
Pappadam B and LFU B kicked off day 2 in a thrilling encounter with Pappadam looking to capitalise on their good 2-0 victory yesterday where as LFU B trying to bounce back from their opening day defeat. LFU B secured their first points of the tournament with a 1-0 victory where Naqi scored the only goal and the winning goal for LFU B. In the other game from the group, Infinity took on Team Ringgo. After 14 minutes of play, only an own goal by infinity’s keeper made the difference with Team Ringgo made it 2 out of 2.

Group B
Milo Taboq, fresh off a 3-0 victory in their opening game took on an Altec FC side looking to secure their first points. Altec was successful in doing so after recording a 2-0 victory with goals coming from Juno and M.J. In the other game, De’7 picked up from where they left off, securing the 3 points with a 5-1 victory over Sumo. Goals from Jorden(2) Danny, Mmediong and Steve for De’7 where as Moses pulled one back for Sumo.

Group C
Machanz and Team Butet went head to head with both teams looking to avoid a first defeat of the tournament so far. Machanz won the battle of the two teams with a 4-0 victory after goals from Calvin, Danesh and a Raj double. Putranz climbed up the ladder in the group standings after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Rookies in what was a highly intense match with both teams really going at it. Azam and Sundara’s goals gave Putranz the 3 points. Thomas scored a consolation for Rookies.

Group D
Poom-Poom were left still looking for their first win of the tournament after a determined Pappadam A side kept them at bay. In what was an even match, both teams cancelled each other out and settled for a 0-0 draw. Paindu Utd made it 2 out of 2 with a 5-3 win over an LFU A side whom pushed Paindu Utd till the very end. Taha bagged all 5 goals for Paindu where as Amin, Izzat and Sheylan netter for LFU A

GIRLS
Group E
Girls action kicked off with Shush Bugs taking on De’7 FC. 4-0 was how the game ended with De’7 taking the spoils and keeping them on a 100% record so far in the tournament. Goals from Ester (2), Jessica and Abby settled things. Emergency bounced back from their opening day defeat with a convincing 4-1 win over Rama- Rama. 2 goals from Jaqlynne, and one a piece from Chrisey and Shal gave Emergency the win. Bertha pulled one back for Rama-Rama.
Group F
In the only match from Group F, Milankovitch and X-it played out a 1-1 draw. Jay scored for Milankovitch where as Zimah netter for X-it.

Futsal Season VIII Day One

CITY FUTSAL SEASON 8DAY 1
So day one done and it didn’t disappoint. For those who missed all the action, here are some stats for u before we get into the summary of all the games played today. 11 games played and a total of 43 goals scored. Averaging almost 4 goals per game being scored, talk about some great futsal being played. So now to the action bit;

Men’s

Group A
Kicking off the tournament was Pappadam B, whom of which reached the semi-finals of last semester’s tournament, coming up against a new team named Infinity. Game ended in a 2-0 victory for Pappadam with an own goal by the infinity keeper, Ming Hau, who push the ball into his own net before Vijay opened his account for the tournament with a neat finish to secure the victory. The second game from the group was played out by LFU B and Team Ringgo. Score line read 4-0 to Team Ringgo after 14 minutes of play with goals from Zulhilmi(2) , own goal by Mido, and Hanif.

Group B
The first game of group B saw Altec FC take on De’7 FC. Both of which are newly constructed teams. At first view for the crowd, De’7 took home the 3 points after a comfortable 3-1 victory. Jorden opened the scoring for De’7 with a well placed shot before Mmediong added a second. Jeva pulled one back for Altec in the second but only for Mmediong to restore the 2 goal advantage. In the other game, Milo Taboq ran 3-0 winners over Sumo. Amirul bagged a brace before Farooq further extended the margin late in the game.

Group C
Last semester’s finalist Machanz took on Rookies in the opening match of the group. Both teams played out a 9 goal thriller with 6 goals coming in the second half alone. Rookies held a 2-1 lead at the half after Marvin put the team up 2-0 before Raj pulled one back before the break. Tol restored the 2 goal advantage for Rookies but only for Machanz to start running riot with 4 goals from Raj and 1 from Lingesh making it 6-3. In the other game, Butet Return took on Putranz. A much even game saw the game ending in a 1-1 draw with Amir scoring for Butet and Azam for Putranz.

Group D
The final group of matches to be played for the day first saw Pappadam A take on LFU A. It was another match filled with goals with Pappadam taking the spoils at 3-2. Goals from Thiagu(2) and Dinesh gave Pappadam the win. Amin and Izzat had a goal apiece for LFU A. In the other game, Poom Poom took on Paindu Utd in a highly intense game. 2-0 it ended with Paindu Utd securing a good start to the tournament. Taha and Ibrahim netted one each.

Girls


Group E


First game in the girl’s category was played out by De’7 and Emergency. With a 5-0 victory, De’7 made it a perfect start to their campaign with a hat-trick from Jessica and one goal each from Tim and Ester get them on the right track. In the other game, Shush Bugs ran out 2-1 winners over Rama-Rama. Sibgha netted both goals for Shush Bugs before Azura pulled one back for Rama-Rama.


Group F

In the only game played from group F, City Girlz secured a positive start with a convincing 4-0 victory over Milankovitch. A brace from both Nadea and Maneesha made it a good start.

General Meeting 1 Sem 2, 2010

Dear Member

The club will conduct its first general meeting for this semester this coming Friday (13/08/2010).

This meeting will basically brief the members about the activites which have been planned for this semester. 

Besides that, an ice-breaking session will be held for the newcomers.

The details of the meeting are as above. CiTY Club would like to request all the members to be punctual for the meeting.
