CiTY Futsal Season IX - Day 3

MENS
DealBreakers vs X-IT – DealBreakerscameinto this game with a record of being the only team in the whole tournament that hasn’t conceded a goal and X-IT are hoping to break that hoodoo. But it is still going after DealBreakers made it 23 goals from 3 games with a 7-0 victory. A hat-trick from Jessica, 2 goals from Tim, and a goal apiece from Fizah and Esther gave them another huge victory.
Group A
Machanz vs PineappleappleUtd - Having already cemented a place in the last 8,Machanz came into this one opting to keep a perfect record thus far in the tournament. Pineappleapple however needed a convincing display to cement a place in the quarter finals. Machanz proved yet again why they are the defending champions with a 4-1 victory. Two goals each from Lingesh and Raj gave them the lead before Aubrey pulled one back for Pineappleapple.
Anis’7 vs The Can’ts - With Pineappleapple losing their game, a win would guarantee a spot in the quarter finals for Anis’7. They welcomed the quarter final spot with a convincing 4-0 victory over The Can’ts. A hat-trick from Rashad and one from Mubin sealed the victory.
Group B
Altec vs Kimberlite - Both teams come into this one seeking a victory but for two different causes. For Kimberlite a win meant their first in the tournament whereas for Altec it would mean a shot at claiming a spot in the final 8. Altec proved superior claiming a 3-1 victory. Jiva (2) and Sundara netted for Altec whereas Zul added one for Kimberlite.
Putranz vs TehTarikPeng - In what was arguably the best game of the night, Putranz and TehTarikPeng battled it out with Putranz needing a big win to get through to the quarters. 4 yellow cards was brandished in a game that got really physical as tempers flared. Putranz took the lead with a strong finish from Sathia. But TehTarikPeng came back from the dead to claim a 2-1 victory. Din and Amir scored for them.
Group C
Chika Noz vs Celtics - The difference between the two teams coming into this game was that Chika Noz needed a win whereas Celtics need only hold onto a draw to go through. Celtics got what they needed after holding onto a 1-1 draw. Barath opened to scoring from the spot giving Chika Noz the lead but only for Nadun to equalise for Celtics.
De’7 vs Alpha Q-2 – With Chika Noz all but out of contention, a 0-0 draw would be enough to see De’7 through. In a highly fair game, the two teams played out a 2-2 draw. Steve and Mmediong netted for De’7 whereas Munya scored both the goals for Alpha Q2.
Group D
Milo Taboq vs LFU – With the quarter final spot all but sealed, Milo Taboq came into this hoping to maintain a 100% winning start to the campaign. LFU however needed a win to get them through. Milo Taboq fought hard and got their win with goals from Hazrin and an own goal from Wira of LFU giving Milo Taboq a 2-0 win.
Johnie Walker vs UFC – Out of contention and fighting for a spot was how this two went into this. Johnie Walker secured their spot in the quarter finals winning this match up by 3 goals to 1. Dany, Kimu and Valentine scored the 3 goals for Johnie Walker while Mohsen netted for UFC

Group E
City Girls vs Shushbugs – Fresh of their 1-0 victory over X-IT, City Girls went into this hoping to continue with another win. Shushbugs though are still seeking their first win. City Girls made sure that ShushBugs keep waiting for their first win after taking a 2-1 victory. Maneesha and Jacqueline scored for City Girls where asFidelia netted for ShushBugs.

Group A
Machanz vs The Can’ts - Following a huge win in their opening match, defending champions Machanz looked to make it 2 from 2 when they came up against The Can’ts whom came into this looking for a first win and cause an upset. However Machanz proved superior coming up with a whopping 7-1 victory. 5 goals from Raj and two from Lingesh gave them the win. Vijay however made it 2 goals from 2 matches when he headed in a consolation for The Can’ts.
PineappleappleUtd vs Anis’7 - A narrow win for Pineappleapple and a huge loss for Anis’7 in the opening game meant that both teams have something to prove coming into this game. Anis’7 prevailed against a Pineappleapple whom just never gave up till the final whistle. Pineappleapple first went 3-0 down with goals from Rashad(2), and Asri for Anis’7 giving them the huge advantage. However the game took a twist when Pineapple searched to come back from the dead. They looked good when coming back to 3-2 with goals from Avinash and Aubrey. Though, Anis’7 held on till the whistle to claim a 3-2 victory.
Group B
Putranz vs Kimberlite - Both teams looked to bounce back from opening day losses. However Putranz came out on top with a great overall performance. Turning from defence to attack, Putranz came out 6-1 victors with a hat-trick from Rajiv, 2 goals from Sathia, and 1 from Venket. Zul pulled a consolation goal for Kimberlite.
Altec vs TehTarikPeng - Victories for both teams on opening day meant that both teams need to be separated and only way is to settle the score on the court. Team that prevailed, TehTarikPeng. 4-0 was how it ended with a hat-trick from Din and one from Amir split the two sides wide apart.
Group C
Alpha-Q2 vs Celtics – First game that was played out of this group saw Celtics take the 3 points with a 4-1 victory over Alpha-Q2. A goal each from Nadun, Pope, Ishaq and an own goal from Vinesh gave Celtics the 4 goals. Munya netted the consolation for Alpha-Q2.
De’7 vs Chika-Noz – In what was a highly physical match, De’7 took full 3 points winning the game by 3 goals to 0. Two goals from Mmediong and one from Danny Ooi gave them the win.
Group D
UFC vs LFU – 2-0 was how it ended between these two sides whom had two different endings to their opening game of the tournament. In an intense game, 3 yellow cards were brandished to Rashed of UFC, Araz and Ruben from LFU. Izzat and Haikal netted for LFU to claim the 3 points.
Milo Taboq vs Johnie Walker – In the last game of the day, mixed emotions went at the final whistle after an adrenaline pumping game. Milo taboq made it 2 wins from 2 when taking a 4-2 victory over Johnie Walker. 2 goals from Amirul and two mistaken own goals from Minusha of Johnie Walker gave them the 4 goals. Kimu and Valentine netted for Johnie Walker.

Group E
DealBreakers vs ShushBugs – After a storming win in their first game, DealBreakers looked to make it 2 from 2 over ShushBugs whom were seeking their first win. However, DealBreakers notched another convincing win, 10-0 was how it ended. Hat-trick for Esther, 4 from Jessica, an own goal from Farasha and one each for Tim and Fizah was what separated the two sides.
City Girls vs X-IT – In a highly anticipating matchup, City Girls came away with the victory, notching their first win of the campaign. A first half goal from Jacqueline was enough clinch the win.
CiTY Futsal Season IX - Day 1

We are back, fresh, and raring to go. CiTY Futsal Season IX officially kicked off today with 10 games held. For the old students, they were reminded of the intensity that this tournament creates every time where as for the new students, well lets just say they got to witness first hand at the level of competition and talent we have here in Curtin. So lets kick things off with today’s results and games summary:-
MENS.
Group A-
Machanz vs Anis’7 – A team with a couple of new faces to the university, defending champions Machanz, had no idea what they were about to face so they played cautiously. They were awaken after Anis’7 equalised following Lingesh’s opening goal for Machanz. Anis’7 played with full courage and determination but were no match for the defending champions as Machanz cleaned up with a 11-2 victory. Goals from Raj (5), Lingesh (4), Danesh (1), and new boy Kiret (1) swooped the victory for Machanz. Rashad netted the two goals for Anis’7.
PineappleappleUtd vs The Can’ts - A hard fought game going from end to end and a well-played game by both goal keepers, PineappleappleUtd managed to edge out an entertaining match with a 2-1 win. Goals from Rusy and Andrea gave them the win whist Vijay headed in the sole goal for The Can’ts.
Group B
Altec vs Putranz – The seeded Altec took on a new look Putranz consisting of 3 new players. However Altec made it known why they are one of the seeded teams in this tournament. Goals from MJ (2) and Jiva (1)gave Altec a 3-0 lead going into the break. Putranz proved a threat though in the second half fighting till the end. It ended with a 3-2 scoreline with Sathia and Rajiv pulling the 2 goals back for Putranz.
Kimberlite vs TehTarikPeng- End to end stuff in a game that ended with a 2-1 victory for TehTarikPeng. Kelvin and Nakil netted for TTP whereas Zul scoring the sole goal for Kimberlite.
Group C
De’7 vs Celtics- The seeded De’7 opened their campaign against an unknown Celtics side who clearly came into this game wanting to win. A very physical game in which a yellow card was brandished to Celtics’ Pope for a bad tackle on Danny Ooi of De’7. Both teams played out a goalless draw.
Alpha Q-2 vs Chika Noz- In the other game from group C saw two relatively new teams coming up against each other. Chika Noz came out victorious in this one with a 3-0 scoreline. Suren, Nantha and an own goal from Aran split the two teams.
Group D
Johnie Walker vs LFU – A 3-1 victory was achieved by Johnie Walker after a well matched game. Two goals from Rifaz and one from Amate put Johnie Walker 3-0 to the good only for Haikal from LFU to make it 3-1.
UFC vs Milo Taboq – Highly physical, adrenaline pumping game which saw the crowd go wild. Milo Taboq came out big in this game with a 6-1 win. Five goals from Amirul and one from Farouq set the score for Milo Taboq. Rasheed scored the sole goal for UFC.
GIRLS
City Girls vs Deal Breakers- The first game in the girls category saw the same members of the defending champions carrying a different name into the tournament. But performance level was no different. The team opened the season with a huge 6-0 victory over previous finalist, City Girls. Groals from Jessica (2), Tim (2), Esther and Pui Yan settled to score.
ShushBugsvs X-IT- Only one goal was seen from this game and that goal went in for X-IT. The lone goal scored by Fatimah made it a good start to the tournament for X-IT.
